Man muß sorgsam damit umgehen.
In the forest there´s a tiny little creek running through. Once upon a time - thousands of years ago - this creek must have been a mighty river, which formed the valley. Following the tiny waterstream I can only imagine the sound of rushing water back in those days.
Today it´s running peacefully and steady. In springtime, yellow March marigolds are blooming all over the place. It´s a little world of it´s own, partly covered in a thicket of blackberry bushes and ferns, dead branches and fresh green leaves. Here and there, a deer´s path is crossing the stream.
I love going down where the water flows. Since my childhood - and long before that - the creek has always been there. This place takes me back in time, way before our modern times. Going there is like connecting the present moment with ancient times. A place to transcend time. I imagine how wild these waters must have been then, how powerful and free. The wildness still lives below the surface of time, earth, skin.
Winter solstice - it is the darkest time of the year. Yet, the winter sun shines ever so powerfully once the clouds and fog have dissolved.
Sometimes the sun is not seen for many days, weeks - or even month, up in the far north. We are longing for the light, missing it desperately, or waiting for it patiently and with anticipation.
We need the light so fundamentally, yet we also need the darkness, the absence of light.
But even in the darkest night we are stunned to see the light of the stars.
Walking in the woods I most often follow the light - it nourishes my soul, it is a holy presence, the presence of the holy.
In winter time, during many dark hours, we are reminded of the preciousness of the light.
Let´s go outside in the winter sun and take it all in.
This is a little intuitive song recorded in the brightness of the winter forest.

Mind and Soul are going for a walk.
Mind is in her state of mind, thinking.
Soul is patiently walking by her side.
Not good enough, Mind says.
Good enough for now, Soul answers.
Never good enough, Mind says.
Good enough right now, Soul answers.
Where will this path lead me?
This place made me sing the song I recorded. I sang intuively in the moment.
While singing I had no intention other than to hear the song of this place at that moment.
The title "Mind and Soul" I came up with later, because it reflects the general mood I was in while walking in the forest that day.
Trees are creating a whole world above our heads. Look up!
Who are the plant helpers? Do you seek their help? Do you even help them in return or express your gratitude?
My way of thanking the plants is often by singing or talking to them, by telling them how beautiful they are, by smiling and taking a deep breath of astonishment and enthusiasm, by gently touching the leaves of a flower or a tree....and many more ways.
Plants are our main source of food and also our best medicine, they take good care of us - let´s take good care of them, too.
Lately I had a busy time with lots of speculations and discussions and so on. My mind was overloaded by thoughts. Nevertheless, I managed to take some pictures and to record a song. Read the description from the video here:
Do you know this feeling, when your mind is filled up with issues, people, words, to-do´s and so on...? And you can´t escape, the thoughts are coming and are haunting you.
My head was filled with all these things, when I went outside in hope for some relief. Being in a state of disconnectedness, I actually didn´t feel like singing at all. I didn´t want to feel myself, just get away from it all.
Anyways, I came to a point when I said to myself: this can´t be it, look around you, all the beauty is right here, try to connect with it. And so I started singing, slowly from one tone to another. The plant helpers supported me through their calmness, patience and beauty. They are always there to help.
